Sugar Plum

Day 2 of accounting final studying... I'm working on concept problems right now. poop. I will be done with finals on Tuesday though & I am getting new plates in the mail on Wednesday for my upcoming birthday! Can't wait! I am also getting quite a few things from Born Pretty Store for my birthday also but they won't be here until probably next week. Here is another mani I did sometime ago..

China Glaze - Sugar Plums (2 coats) & Revlon - Slipper (1 coat). I loveee Sugar Plums, mainly because of the small glitters. I wanted a little more bling, so I added Slipper :)

Christmas Nails

It's finals week here at UW, but I have the hardest time focusing on accounting right now. I have a mani I did a week or so ago to show you guys. Even though I haven't been keeping up with blogging I have still been taking pics of my manis and posting them on my facebook.

This is OPI - Alpine Snow + China Glaze - Party Hearty
Party Hearty is probably my most favorite glitter, especially during the holiday season. I want to try it over mint green next!

School has been so crazy that I just haven't had time for this blog or even doing my nails... I've been nail polish-less since friday... AH! My nails have also been peeling which is one reason I haven't painted them, it's kinda really disgusting. Anywhoo here is my last week's mani:

I forgot what the gold polish is called... AH! I would check but I'm in a study room right now, away from my stash :(

I'm getting my China Glaze Holiday nail polishes today though!! I ordered the set with PH, one with the reindeer, & I believe the candle one. I also ordered Dorthy Who? since I have been wanting it, but haven't ordered online for awhile. I probably won't have time to paint my nails until the weekend though, I have a busy week ahead. Wish me luck <3

I'm alive.... barely

Haven't been on this for awhile... school is CRAZY. Probably because I'm taking 4 classes, when usually people take 3. I'm also working so I barely have any free time :( I have goodies for you guys though!! :)

China Glaze - Grape Pop & Rococo - Gold Leaf.
Gold Leaf is freaking AMAZING! I was sad when this mani started to chip....

Nars - Zulu.
Thankfully I pre-ordered this baby. I almost freaked out on Nordstrom's though because atfirst nobody could find it but then a sales associate that actually worked at the Nars counter came and knew where all the holds were. I was ecstatic when I got it.

Pokemon nails :).

17. Blue Galaxy

Recruitment is over!!! Tomorrow is bid day, meaning we meet all of the new members! So excited. Its basically like Christmas for Sororites (besides everyday of greek week of course). No boys, no booze also ends on Monday which I am excited about because I miss my frat boys :(
Today I have a past mani that I haven't posted until now... I used OPI - No Room for the Blues & Revlon - Galaxy.

Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

16. Husky Nails

So this is extremely late, I am aware of that.. I was in the middle of moving and getting ready for recruitment & now that recruitment is here my free time is depleted :( I do have free time now though! I did these nails like 2 weeks ago for the first Husky game of the season which we lost to BYU :( sad day. Oh well...
I used OPI - Purple with a Purpose and the gold rhinestones are from Viva La Nails. They were really easy to put on and they stayed for a week. They're pretty awesome.

Now I have to unpack my new room... fun.

15. Viva La Nails

Soo I know I have been sucking at updating my blog... SORRY! I got out of school and have been taking advantage of the great August weather in Seattle. I received Viva La Nails Sample Pack on Friday last week and decided I should finally fix my nails lol. I went to a Seahawks game last Saturday, so I decided I should do a mani for it. Here it is! I used Color Club - Wild Child, a blue Art Club (didn't have a name), and some stars I got from Viva La Nails!

The stars didn't stay on too well, they didn't bend at all so they kind of stuck out. It was kind of annoying too because I have long hair and my nails kept getting stuck in my hair because of the stars....This was taken 2 days after the mani (a day after the football game, which we lost). I can't wait to use the rest of the products I got from Viva La Nails!

14. My First Plain French

Heyy! I'm still alive!! I've been busy wrapping up summer quarter and such so I haven't had much time to do much with my nail :( I have a french mani I did last week though! This was my first plain french! It turned up pretty okay, which was surprising. I spiffed it up with some Konad stickers. I used OPI - Alpine Snow for the tips and OPI - Time-less is More on the whole nail.

I first painted my tips and didn't care about if I made a straight line or not. Then I took a brush dipped in acetone and shaped the tip to how I wanted it to look. I added a 2 coats of OPI - Time-less is More & added the stickers. Pretty easy, but the stickers don't really show up... poo :(

I'm done with school next Wednesday!!! I will have a lot of time to waste :) & I don't start school again until October :)

13. Loooovee

So my boyfriend, Keith, came on Monday and brought over nail polish that his mom bought for me! They were both Nicole by OPI. One was a blue heart glitter called Honey-Dew You Love Me? The other is a purple/pink with hidden shimmer called I Have a Plumb Thumb. They're both really pretty! I put on I Have a Plumb Thumb, but I didn't have much time to paint my nails so I skipped the base coat & top coat. I really love this color though, I've had it on for a couple of days, even though my application was crappy I still don't want to take it off. Here it is:

I like the formula of the polish, it was very easy to apply. The brush was good too, not problems with it. This was 2 coats.

REVLON GLITTERS!

So I was at Bartell's (a local Seattle drugstore) to check if they had Sinful Colors - Green Ocean (I know that they will probably never get it again, but you never know!). Usually Bartell's doesn't have the new collections but they did!! I was so excited and they were buy one get one half off. The had only two left of Slippers & Galaxy. & only 1 left of Belle & Star. Of course I had to get them all. They didn't have the creams left though, but I wasn't interested in those. haha
Here they are (I know these pics are bad, I can't find a place with good lighting...)

I can't wait to use these, I might swatch them later. I have a midterm this Thursday, paper due next Monday, presentation in 2 Mondays, & another midterm in 3 weeks. I'm pretty busy :(

12. Purple Flowers

I'm at my mom's house, this time I brought my nail stuff. I probably won't post again for a little but because I have a midterm on Thursday & a ton of homework. :( But I have this for you! I used American Apparel - Butter. I love American Apparel's bottles. Their brushes are very long and sometimes are a little hard to work with, but the formula and the application is great. Here are my nails:

I used these holo flat flowers I bought on sale at Sally's yesterday and rhinestones from Daiso :)

Have a great weekend!

Nakie Nails

Here are my nails at their natural state. Pretty yellow and gross... I also filed my nails down and now they're curved instead of square. Square nails are sometimes too impractical, especially since I wear contacts.

I'm holding Essie - Demure Vixen if you are wondering.

10. Hottie French

I didn't have enough time to re-do my mani so I decided instead to just add Sinful Colors - Hottie and make a french tip. It's not very pretty since I did this in a rush, but I wanted to show you guys anyways incase you were looking for some ideas. I used an Art Club striper with it also, I don't know what the name of the color is because I bought it at Ross in a pack.

I've been getting a few paper cuts at work, so excuse the cut :x

Here's what I used:

I really like Sinful Colors' glitters because they have holo & colored glitter and have sheer colored bases. They're really great for layering. Also Art Club stripers work well for me, I once tried Sally's Beauty Supply Stripers and the brush was ick.

9. Take Me to Your Chateau

I've had a cold these past few days, I am getting better but I couldn't do my nail for awhile. Right now my nails are just plain Color Club - Take Me to Your Chateau. It was difficult to put on, I tried my best to do the thinnest coats as possible but there was still dragging. It took me 3 coats to get it somewhat even. But it is a very pretty color, I've been getting compliments all day!

I've also been at my mom's and none of my nail polish is there so it sucks. I'm at UW right now for the night then returning to my mom's tomorrow. I want to bring nail polish home but I have to take the bus and it's kind of a hassle. poooop.

Haul, Tutorial

I went to Bed, Bath, & Beyond after work on Friday. I haven't been there since they added nail polish (or was it always there?) but anyways here is what I got:

Essie - Turquoise & Caicos, Color Club - Take me to Your Chateau, Color Club - Fashion Addict, Art Club - Silver Glitter.

I really wanted CC - Take me to Your Chateau after seeing Chanel's Spring 2010 promo pics. I will probably use it next! I also wanted Art Club - Silver Glitter because UW Football season is coming up and my old silver glitter ran out last season :(

This week Polish Hoarder Disorder's had a challenge called Color Accent. This was my entry:

I wanted to do a tutorial on how I did this, just in case anyone was wondering :)

  1. Paint all of your nails with China Glaze - Recycle
  2. While the middle finger is still wet use 4 small pink rhinestones and make a square. I used the pointy end of an orange stick dipped in top coat to pick up the rhinestones.
  3. Use big clear (white, what would you call them?) rhinstones and outline the smaller ones.
  4. Paint the tips of your pointer and ring finger with Sinful Colors - I Miss You.
  5. Cover the french tip line with the same pink rhinestones you used for the middle finger, while I Miss You is still wet.
  6. Paint over China Glaze - Recycle with Sinful Colors - I Miss You on the thumb and pinky.
  7. Cover all fingers with Top Coat & make sure to use a lot over the rhinestones so they don't fall!

These are the things I used:

8. + Rhinestones

Twiggie is so hard to capture on camera, such a pain... My last post is closer to the real color. But anyways of course I couldn't have just a plain mani (I get bored and start decorating my nails), so I decided to use the new flower rhinestones and a nail striper. This is the creation:

& a close-up:

I love using rhinestone just because they're so easy to put on & they're sparkly. I love anything sparkly!

7. Twiggie

I didn't use any of the konad plates yet, whenever I experiment it's a big fail. It's really discouraging... I guess I just need to practice. Anyways I am wearing Color Club - Twiggie. It's a neon green that is also pastel. Does that makes sense? I'm not sure but it's one of my favorite greens!

Here is a close-up:

Today when I went to my internship my boss asked if I wanted this bottle of nail polish. This is the second bottle she's given to me. She's the best!!

This is OPI - At First Sight. It's very sheer I will probably use it for a pedi sometime soon.

Nail Art Supplies!

I made an order at wowsocool.com 2 Thursdays ago and finally got them on Monday! Here they are:

I got M45 (french tips w/ designs), M57 (animal prints, etc.), & M79 (dots & clouds, etc.) I'm really excited to use them, I was experimenting the other day and I kind of failed so hopefully next time goes more smoothly.. I also got nail stickers!

I decided on these pink & white rose stickers because my sorority's flower is the pink rose & my boyfriend's fraternity rose is the white rose. I'm thinking of using them during sorority recruitment, we'll see though.
After work today I stoped by this Japanese Dollar Store, Daiso, and bought some cute rhinestones.

Cute flower shapes!

& cute heart shapes!

I can't wait to use these all, I probably shouldn't use them all at once though... could look like a disaster. lol I'm painting my nails soon after I do some reading for school.

Thank you to all my new followers <3 I'm happy to see my blog is actually being read now! <3

edit: ahh sorry all these pics are blurry... I took them at night so I had to use a lamp and didn't use flash. They looked pretty clear from afar :x

6. Lady Gaga Nails FAIL

I tried to do nails like Lady Gaga's rhinestone mani... I attempted to make a heart with rhinestones and it ended up looking not like a heart. lol So this is what it ended up as:

I used China Glaze - Recycle and Sinful Colors - I Miss You. & here is a close-up:

Studying..

I've been studying for my accounting mid-term tomorrow so I haven't had the time to post my current mani... but I'm itching to post it. I'm at the library right now so I can't.. lol

In other news, I'm getting 3 konad plates in tomorrow! Yay! I won't be able to use them tomorrow though because I have fraternity live-in girl obligations & also a paper to write. I will be able to Tuesday night though! & I am going to post my current mani once I get out of this library! :)

5. Blinged Out Purple

I used Color Club - Pucci-licious, 3 coats, and added pink & purple rhinestones. :)

In other news, my best friend Wyman is in Hong Kong right now and I asked him to get me some GOSH nail polish & he found Rainbow & Gasoline! :) This is a picture he took:

They're so pretty! I won't see him until September though so I won't see these babies for awhile :(

4. HD Nails

For this mani, I used Sinful Colors - HD Nails. It was pretty streaky, so I used 3 coats. I really like this color, it has a hidden shimmer in it. I bought the stars and rhinestones at Daiso. I love that store for all of its cheap nail things!

I was playing with my nails today on the bus to work and chipped off a bit on my index finger.. opps.

3. NOTD

This is my first mani using konad on all my nails. It turned out okay, it wasn't perfect but I'm still practicing. I used 3 coats of China Glaze - For Audrey. It was opaque in 1 coat, but mine was streaky and on the thick side so I had to do 3 coats to fix it. Then I used China Glaze - Awaken for the flowers. I believe I used the M1 plate, but I'm not entirely sure...

This was pre-cleanup. I usually do my cleanup in the shower since it's less time consuming. I am hunting down a good brush for cleanup though. I bought a brush at the dollar store recently and it doesn't do a very good job, so stiljavascript:void(0)l hunting.

2. NOTD

Today's NOTD is 2 coats of China Glaze - Tree Hugger layered with 2 coats of Sinful Colors - Call You Later. I snagged a couple Sinful Colors for 99 cents with last week's Walgreens coupon and Call You Later was one of my favorites. It has dark green and gold sparkles. Soooo pretty!!

Sorry about the naked spots on my naked finger. My Tree Hugger hasn't been used for awhile so it thickened... poo. Nothing SV Thinner can't fix though!

4th of July Mani

This is my first post ever! Yay! Its not going to be a very long post either since I should be in bed, but I wanted to show you my 4th of July mani. This picture is pre-cleanup so please excuse my mess :x I'll post what I used later since I'm going to crawl into bed right after this.
